Your home can't be secure unless all your external doors and windows have an option to lock.

• Check all external doors and windows: All external doors and windows should have locks. Count how many provide access into your property and ensure they are lockable. Test your keys to ensure they operate all external locks, and make sure internal locks and snibs are in good working order.
• Install deadlocks: Consider installing deadlocks to all external doors. Deadlocks help prevent intruders from forcing their way into your property.
• Install window locks: If your windows are not lockable, consider installing window locks. There are key lockable options available in a range of colours and styles, such as push, slide, and patio locks, as well as lockable window winders. These cost-effective options enhance your security and reduce the risk of intruders gaining access.

Lock your Gates!

• Lock your gates: Many break-ins occur because people forget to lock their gates, or their gates do not have a locking option. Choose from standard conventional key locks, mechanical keypad locks, or digital access options to significantly reduce the likelihood of intruders entering your property.

Keep any valuables secure

• Use a home safe: Instead of hiding valuable documents, jewellery, or keepsakes in various places, purchase a home safe. A professionally installed home safe provides a secure location to store important items and protects them from theft, floods, and fires.

Keep any spare keys secure

• Install a key safe: If multiple people have access to your home, rather than hiding a spare key under a mat or rock, have a quality key safe installed by a professional locksmith. Key safes can be securely fixed to external locations and provide access to keys in emergency situations.

Change your locks and rekey your property

• Change your locks or rekey your property: If your keys are lost or stolen, if you recently purchased your property, or if you offer short-term accommodations to tenants, it is important to change your locks or rekey your property.
